Autumn is here with its mesmerizing colors, falling foliage and temperate weather. The landscape transforms before our eyes and makes it the perfect photo opportunity for you and your family to take a little escapade to some of the most beautiful states in the country.

Today we bring you the most beautiful sights during this season and how you can enjoy them safely with Travalla. Get your things ready and go far (or not that far) in search of the most scenic places!

Bar Harbor, ME

This town is part of the Acadia National Park and provides some of the most stunning views during the season. It has the perfect mix of mountains full of trees and coastlines you can hike or bike. Bar Harbor is known for its outdoor activities: hunting and fishing, clamming, hiking and much more. You can’t miss the Bar Harbor shore path and Cadillac Mountain.

Catskills, NY

If you want to remain close to the city, but still want a mountain feel, the Catskills have it all for you. These mountains provide the perfect getaway to take scenic drives, peaceful hikes, exciting rides on your bike or refreshing waterfall hikes. Get a new sense of discovery and visit the Vernooy Kill Falls or Tompkins Falls.

Taos Pueblo, NM

When you think of fall scenery you don’t usually look south, but we can assure you that Taos in New Mexico has all you want and need when it comes to fall colors, foliage, and family fun. Marvel at the Enchanted Circle, a ride you can make from Taos Pueblo surrounding the whole Taos Ski valley, passing through Gold hill, Eagle Nest, Angel fire and valle escondido. Don’t forget to stop in Taos Pueblo to see the only living Native American community designated both a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and a National Historic Landmark.

Great Smoky Mountains, NC, TN

Get a break and take a breather at Cades Cove, a green valley surrounded by mountains from which you can see the fall in all its splendor. Cades Cove is also popular thanks to its wildlife, don’t be surprised if you find a white-tailed deer, black bears, groundhogs and hundreds of bird species. You can visit the park for the day or choose to camp in one of the designated sites in the area.

Aspen, CO

This former silver-mining town is one of the most visited places during the winter… but you have to see it in the fall as well. Close to it, you can visit the Maroon Bells – Snowmass Wilderness area. It has over 100 miles of trail that passes through alpine lakes. Witness the Rocky mountain splendor and delight your eyes with the sights of wildlife such as elks and birds.

Visiting natural and scenic places can be a great family activity in these times of social distancing! Plan your trip with Travalla and rest assured that you will receive the best offers and service with safety in mind. Where to next?
