Human activity is the driver of many changes we’re seeing on earth: deforestation, climate change, pollution and reduction of plant and wildlife species. Our impact on this planet is unprecedented and we need to act now. After all this is our home, the only one we have.
On June 5th we celebrate World Environment Day, a day created by the United Nations and celebrated in over 100 countries to create awareness of our impact on the environment. Today we want to reflect on the many ways we can contribute to the protection of our planet.
Here are some ways in which you can help, every day, in aiding our planet.
Reduce
By cutting out the amount of waste you produce. Buying or using less plastic or single-use products and replacing them for reusable ones can be your first step. Composting all organic residues and eating at home instead of take-out helps you reduce the amount of waste you produce.
Reuse and recycle
Long lasting products such as cups, bags, and cutlery will not only help you save money but also save the planet. Make sure you bring your own bags when shopping for groceries, minimize the use of plastic containers when eating out. How about using one of our Stainless Steel Travel Tumbler?
Shop local and wise
Consuming foods and products that are safe for the environment will not only help the planet but also your health. Choose non-toxic cleaning products such as shampoos and soaps. Consume local and seasonal goods to reduce your carbon print and support your neighbor farmers.
Support OG’s Bags for Life
At ORGANO we’re committed to not only bring the treasures of the Earth to the people of the world but also to take care of them. That’s why we promote sustainable production and reuse through our Bags For Life Campaign.
Bags for Life is a joint initiative with a non-profit organization that provides work to unemployed women in urban areas. Through it, you can get involved by recycling your OG sachets to transform them into livelihood opportunities for these women and their families.
Donate and register now! Help us track the number of sachets and how many Bags for Life can be produced for auction at our upcoming UNITE events. Our goal is to reach 3 million sachets to produce more than 5000 bags by the end of this year.
