Happy Independence Day to all our OG Family in the United States!
In 1776, the Thirteen Colonies declared independence from the British Empire, becoming the first country in the Americas to gain their full autonomy after the European conquest. Of course, this wouldn’t have been achieved if the revolutionaries hadn’t had a cup of coffee. And it all makes sense, as just three years before, the colonists protested against the high taxes on tea imposed by the empire, leading to what’s known today as the Boston Tea Party Revolt. After tons of tea boxes were thrown into the sea, most colonists switched to coffee as a sign of protests against Great Britain.
Coffee retained and even increased its popularity after the American Revolution. In fact, it was the third president of the country, Thomas Jefferson, who famously declared it “the favorite drink of the civilized world.” Today, this delicious drink has position itself as one of the most consumed beverages in the United States.
So either you’re organizing a barbeque or a picnic, here we give you two original OG American-style coffee recipes that you can prepare and enjoy with the fireworks tonight!
ORGANO Iced Americano
- 2 sachets ORGANO Black Coffee™
- 1 cup hot water
- 6 ice cubes
- Mix the two Black Coffee sachets in the water and stir until dissolved.
- Pour your coffee into a glass filled with ice and enjoy.
S’mores Iced Coffee
- 1 sachet ORGANO Cafe Mocha™
- 1 cup hot water
- Mini marshmallows
- 6 ice cubes
- Whipping cream
- 1 Tbs crushed graham crackers
- Stir the Cafe Mocha in the hot water until dissolved and add the mini marshmallows.
- Pour the mocha mix into a glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with whipped cream, graham crackers, and enjoy.
