That’s why today, we bring you ten tips to enhance your connection-building skills so you can join us in celebrating our 10th anniversary!
- Set a goal
If you’re nervous, the best way to force yourself into talking to others is to give yourself a challenge. Set a goal to speak to a certain number of people per conference. Counting how many business cards you get at the end of the day is a great way to self-analyze and improve your networking skills.
- Wear the OG Lifestyle
Have you ever heard the phrase “Dress for the job you want?” You don’t need to wear a dress or a tie; you can even find something casual with us. But now that you’re living the OG Lifestyle, keep up your image as the OG Leader you are or that you want to be. It will help you to build self-confidence and will cause a good impression on everyone.
- Arrive early
Get to the venue at least an hour before the event starts. Arriving early won’t only guarantee you a great spot, as there are usually people sleeping outside from the night before. But you’ll get the chance to find people who are on their own, which is an advantage, as it’s harder to join a group and conversation that started already. It will give you more confidence approaching someone that is also looking to start a chat with new people.
- Break the ice
Don’t start making questions as if you were on a job interview. Forget about asking what other people’s goals are, or any topic involving money. Instead, ask them if it’s their first time in Las Vegas, where did they partied last night, or if they like the venue. Try to connect at a personal, and not only at a business level.
- Don’t forget the business cards

- Be interested and interesting
To keep an engaging conversation, both sides must give their best. Get involved in people’s lives and most importantly, remember their names. Tell your story and listen to others. You already know you have at least one common interest, so take advantage that you both belong to the OG Family and share your passion.
- Smile
Don’t be afraid to open up. The best way to get rid of any social anxiety a large event like this might bring you is to take a deep breath and relax. Let your enthusiasm to show up and be contagious. Be genuine, and you’ll gain the trust of everyone.
- Get out of The Orleans
Every night you’ll be hyped up after all the fantastic testimonials you’ll hear. This is the perfect time to organize a night out with your new connections, go to The Strip, and forget about business talk. You’re here to make friends and grow your OG Family.
- Follow up
Don’t forget about EXPO the second you get back home. You asked for everyone’s card to stay in touch, so now’s the time to connect with everyone, even when you’re miles away from each other.
