Happy Iindependence Day! Our OG family in the United States celebrates today their independence from the British Empire, becoming pioneers in the Americas at gaining full autonomy of their territory and government back in 1776. This is a day to celebrate, and as John Adams said: “It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

Fireworks, picnics, parties and parades take place all over the US to commemorate this special day, but there is one particular gathering that gets all the honors as the ideal 4th of July celebration and it is a Barbecue. It gives you the perfect excuse to get your things ready in the yard or the park to watch the fireworks and enjoy the summertime.

ORGANO wants to celebrate with you and that’s why we want to give you a few ideas on how to make it tasty with a few recipes infused with the OG spirit.

King of Coffee Glazed Pork Chops

2 Sachets of OG King of Coffee, dissolved in 4oz of water

3 Tablespoons of honey

½ tablespoon of garlic

Parsley

Sea Salt

Crushed Red Pepper

Black Pepper

1 Minced Onion

1 Tablespoon of brown sugar

1 tablespoon of olive oil

4 Pork Chops

Put all ingredients (except the brown sugar and pork chops) in a bowl and mix. Then, add the chops and coat on both sides. Wrap the bowl and refrigerate for 24 hours.

The day of the BBQ, remove from the fridge and put the chops on the hot grill. Flip once to cook for 15 minutes on both sides. While they are grilling, take the remaining marinade of the bowl and put it in a saucepan, add the brown sugar to it and reduce it, stirring occasionally until it becomes glaze, remove from heat.

Dip the finished chops in the glaze and put them back on the grill for 5 more minutes. Remove from heat, let it rest for 5 minutes, cut and serve.

ORGANO Coffee & Spice Chicken Wings

1 sachet of ORGANO Black Coffee (already dissolved in a cup of water)

1 Tablespoon of ORGANO Black Coffee

2 tablespoons of paprika

1 tablespoon of garlic powder

1 tablespoon of dried thyme

1 tablespoon of oregano

½ tablespoon of cayenne pepper

2 tablespoons of honey

Salt

Pepper

In a bowl throw the chicken pieces, the dissolved OG coffee and some salt. Toss the ingredients together to ensure that the chicken is evenly coated. Seal the bowl with some cling wrap and let the chicken marinate in the fridge for 2 hours.

Meanwhile, combine the ORGANO Black Coffee powder, paprika, garlic powder, thyme and pepper together.

Preheat the oven at 350° F.

Once the chicken has marinated, remove and drain the wings. Line a baking tray with some tin foil. After this, lightly toss the wings in the dry coffee and spice mixture, evenly coat the pieces and arrange them on the baking tray. Let them cook for 15 minutes. Remove the tray, brush some honey over the pieces and put back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

Remove again and coat with more honey and bake for 5 minutes more. Finally, remove and let them sit for 2 to 3 minutes and serve.

ORGANO Black Coffee Vinaigrette

1 tablespoon of ORGANO Black Coffee

3 Tablespoons of Sherry vinegar or red wine vinegar

1 tablespoon of honey

⅓ Cup of extra virgin olive oil

Whisk the vinegar, honey and OG Black Coffee in a medium bowl. Once combined, gradually add the olive oil as you whisk. Season with salt and pepper and set aside. You can enjoy this vinaigrette with a seasonal salad!
