While we are trying to get fit with the X Challenge, sometimes our body needs a different exercise than an intense workout. A cup of Organic Green Tea and a yoga routine can keep our body and mind at ease while keeping the rest of our system active and performing at its most optimal ways. Here are the five yoga poses to ease your mood and to calm your mind with the help of the relaxing properties of your ORGANO Organic Green Tea.
Jathara Parivartanasana
Lay on the floor with your back straight and your arms extended to the sides. Turn your face towards your left side. Extend your right leg and bend the left one, and bring your left knee down over your right side. The more flexible you are, the lower your knee will get. Just make sure your shoulder blades are always touching the ground. Hold for two minutes and repeat on the opposite side. This pose increases your flexibility in shoulders and hips, and stretches your spine and neck.
Balasana
Sit straight on your knees, with your big toes touching each other and your knees apart. Bend forward, keeping your spine straight, your arms extended, and your palms facing down to the floor. Stay in this position from one to three minutes. This pose stretches your hips, tights, and back, releasing the tension in your shoulders and spine.
Viparita Karani
Lay your back straight on the floor and lift your feet up, keeping your legs straight until you form a 90° angle with your body. Extend your arms and hold from five to ten minutes. If you feel you need some extra support, you can rest your legs against the wall and put a pillow underneath your lower back. If you feel strong enough, try lifting your hips from the ground. This pose relieves back pains, regulates your blood flow, and soothes tired knees and ankles.
Padmasana
There are two ways of doing this pose. For beginners, sit with your back straight and bend your legs towards you, placing one on top of the other. If you feel you are more flexible, cross your legs and pass your left foot under your right leg, and rest both feet just above the opposite thigh. This is a popular meditating position, it stretches your back, knees, and ankles, and relaxes the abdomen.
Supta Baddha Konasana
Lay on your back with a pillow underneath your lower back if you need extra support. Bring the soles of your feet together and draw your heels towards your pelvis. Relax your knees, letting them drop to the sides and hold for five minutes. This pose soothes muscle tension, increases the flexibility of your hips, and relaxes your lower back.
Are you ready to try these yoga poses? While these movements don’t feel as tiring as some other exercises we’ve shared, yoga still improves your physical condition by increasing your lungs capacity, improving your blood flow, enhancing your flexibility, and soothing your muscles. Try practicing on an empty stomach to avoid abdominal pains and remember always to breathe naturally.
