Some try and build a business. Some try and build a global empire. And some try and build…a city?

More on that in a second.

Deon Hunter is a man with a variety of skills. He’s a Medical Corrective Farrier, a professional horse rider, and a Minister. So when a man like Deon Hunter joins ORGANO™, he’s not getting involved to just join the team — he wants to lead the team.

So like any successful businessman, he set a goal and worked towards it. However, instead of setting a small, very easy to attain goal, Deon shot high. He wanted to achieve Sapphire in 60 days or less.

But, despite how quickly he wanted to join the ORGANO™ leadership ranks, his journey got off to a bit of a slow start.

“In the first 4-6 weeks, I wasn’t sure what was going on and how I wanted to — or needed to — structure my organization. I wanted to make an impact not just for myself, but for the people I was bringing into the organization. I needed to slow down and come up with a concrete plan that would help me reach my goal.”

So as he began to formulate his plan, he decided the best way to come up with a plan was to literally draw it out. He drew out what he wanted his organization to look like, which he then referred to as his “roadmap”. He calculated how many members and points his organization needed to have in order to achieve his goal of Sapphire. He measured and adjusted; measured and adjusted; and then measured and adjusted some more. Eventually, he had figured out his day-to-day plan to building his organization and reaching his goal.

“The key decision was to put the people we cared most about in our first level. Then, I invested time into training our people in order to build their confidence. We kept the training simple and fun, and even broke it down into achievable steps and tasks. By bringing the training down to a very basic level, everyone felt like they were in control of their development and they soon realized they had the ability to go out there and replicate everything we were doing.”

The training was based around getting his team to do three simple things:

  1. Get on Autoship
  2. Bring 2 friends a week to a tasting or meeting
  3. Become an avid customer and always sample the product.

This simple, repeatable, and easy to follow approach to development is what helped Deon reach his goal of Sapphire — in less than 60 days.

“By focusing on developing, I built a foundation that could stand the test of time and allow me to grow and expand my organization and continue to bring in even more quality people. I had no interest in building a street — I wanted to build a city. ”

Now that he’s got an eagle award, a growing organization, and a city all at his disposal, it’s only a matter of time until Deon sets — and achieves — his next lofty goal.
