Ymelda Salas has literally done a little bit of everything in her life.

In no particular order, she’s a: single mother, painter, baker, special effects makeup artist, event decorator, muralist, gym rat, and Elementary and Middle School art teacher.

And in her spare time, she occasionally takes a breath.

So, for someone who’s already so busy and has already accomplished so much, what attracted her to ORGANO™?

“Needless to say, Network Marketing was never something I saw myself doing and I had zero experience in this field before coming to ORGANO™,” says Ymelda. “I actually wasn’t even a coffee drinker when I took this business on. I just knew that I needed the personal development and appreciated the leadership from the start. It’s a huge part of why I joined the business and what I love most about it.”

So she started the business, but admits now that she didn’t put everything she had into it. As she puts it, she “coasted for the first few months” and couldn’t envision how she was going to become the leader she needed to be in order to advance her business.

Ymelda’s biggest hurdle was overcoming her fear of falling short of her goals. She knew this was holding her back, but didn’t know how to get past it. She’d always hear “it’s better to aim high and miss, than aim low and hit,” yet all this did was bring up bad memories of times she had big goals, but fallen just short. She tried to move on, but this doubt kept persisting.

It wasn’t until she decided to attend the annual EXPO where her mindset and attitude began to change.

“Hearing Holton Buggs on stage during his always amazing Sapphire recognition ceremony made me realize that it was never going to happen for me until I started hosting my own mixers. I needed to be kicked out of the nest. I have great leaders who mentor me and guide me, but I knew I was too dependent on them.”

When she came back from EXPO, she hosted the first full OG Mixer, without her sponsor. It was at this meeting that she began to see a change in her attitude. Her belief in the system strengthened when she enrolled a Distributor all on her down. This was when she realized she knew what to do all along, she just needed to stop holding herself back. She parlayed this new mindset into the best month she’d ever had and finally understood how helping others achieve their goals, would in turn help her achieve her own goals. As she likes to put it, it was “we, not me.”

Looking back 15 months ago when she first started with ORGANO™, things have completely changed — both personally and professionally — for Ymelda. She’s loving her team, loving the income, loving the growth, and most of all, loving her new rank — Sapphire.

As she gets used to her new life as an ORGANO™ leader, she’s trying to share the experiences she’s had to help motivate others to get over their fears and achieve their goals.

“Always remember, there is nothing wrong with where you are, where you start, or where you’ve been. Be transparent and you will get so much further than trying to portray a role you aren’t really living. Don’t be ashamed of your story, because somewhere out there you’ll meet another person just like you who needs to hear it.”

So, the next time you ask Ymelda who she is, she’ll still say teacher, painter, baker, and mother. But now she can add a few more to that list:

Entrepreneur, mentor, Sapphire, and most importantly, coffee drinker.
