Organo Gold is proud to be a global company — and now is operating in 37 countries around the world, the most recent, which was announced at the OG global convention in St. Louis earlier this month, is Costa Rica. And the Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom is at the heart and soul of all of our products — from the gourmet coffees to the nutraceutical products to even the toothpaste!

And of course mushrooms are popular the world over. In Italy they put them in little pillows of pasta, or they can flavor a risotto that’s out of this world! In Asia there are literally hundreds of exotic varieties of fungus, such as the Shitake mushroom that’s popular in Japanese cuisine, the Wood Ear mushroom that’s big in Taiwan and many other Asian nations, and so much more.

Here, we thought we’d take a look at some websites that focus on mushrooms, some of which are the distant fungi cousins of our beloved and revered Ganoderma Lucidum mushrooms:

World of Mushrooms: This site features hundreds of recipes made using delicious mushrooms of all varieties —and even features special sections such as gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian recipes. Mushrooms are often dubbed “meat for vegetarians”due to their high nutrient content!

Food Network: As you’d expect, this site from the cable food network features some fascinating facts about the history and cultivation of mushrooms, from ancient times through to the modern gourmet today! It offers some great advice on how to  spot the freshest mushrooms, and much more.

Mykoweb: This website is devoted to the study of mushrooms, also known as Mycology.

Enjoy — and here’s to finding the fun in fungus!
