On May 23, 2014, Labor Day, OG Jamaica launched its Corporate Social Responsibility program. The first project for the Team focused on neighborhood improvements.
The 28 member OG Jamaica Team lead by General Manager Dorothy Anderson and Blue Diamond Consultant Joseph Wilson, provided much needed refurbishment to the New Kingston Police Post (NKPP), the Post that serves the neighborhood in which the OG Jamaica office is located. Organo Gold donated materials (such as paint, rollers, and brushes) and their own time and labor to repaint the building. The OG volunteers also bought and installed a much-needed outdoor covered seating area for the center.
The local fire department was also on hand to help hoist the flag at the newly revitalized center. And the OG team was more than happy to take the time to share Organo Gold beverages with the local fire and police post workers, as well as pedestrians and motorists in the area.
All of this activity caught the attention of one of Jamaica’s major national TV stations, CVM-TV, which featured the event in the prime time news coverage. The entire project renovated the building and lifted the spirits of nearby residents as our Jamaica office has received congratulatory calls and notes from emergency services, governing bodies and the general public.
OG looks forward to many more such events and programs that give back to the local community.
