OGCares Philippines 6-1-14Today, June 1, is International Children’s Day, a day recognized by many places across the globe to honor children. So it seems very fitting that OG Cares held an event benefitting children at the Reception and Study Center for Children located in Bago Bantay in Quezon City, the Philippines. The Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) is a home for the abandoned, abused, neglected, and exploited children aged seven years old and below.

OGCares Philippines 6-1-14bOrgano Gold’s Global Master Distributor Shane Morand, Country Manager Josephine Roxas and Black Diamond Steve Martin were on hand at the event, alongside 40 OG leaders including Diamonds and Star Achievers from across the Philippines, who volunteered to help the 85 children who attended the event. The children, who ranged in age from 1 month to 12 years of age, enjoyed a great meal, participated in singing and dancing activities, and received Organo Gold goodie bags. The wide smiles on their faces showed that the event was an absolute success.

OGCares Philippines 6-1-14aOf course, children are at the center of the OG Cares mission and vision. The foundation was created with the central focus of helping to create the leaders of tomorrow by enriching the lives of youth around the world. The reality is that there are many young people who simply do not have the resources necessary to become leaders in their communities and beyond. But OG believes that every child has the potential to become a leader — they just need resources, support and guidance. That’s where OG Cares steps in, helping to make resources available that will help all children develop leadership skills. An important part of the mission is also providing children with opportunities to become productive and engaged members of their communities, so that they can help to initiate positive change for future generations.

At yesterday’s event, we saw that happening at the ground level. After the challenges families in the Philippines have faced in the wake of last year’s typhoon, were so proud to stage this recent event in Quezon City, and the smiles on the faces of those children made it all worthwhile.
